Introducing yourIVFbaby
A reproductive education landscape and community for the endlessly curious
A reproductive education landscape making complex scientific concepts approachable
yourIVFbaby is my way of attempting to fill in some of the gaps in knowledge around the reproductive system and women’s health. This is a dedicated space to learn about reproductive biology, scientific advances and form a safe and inviting space to connect, ask questions, and build a community of curiously minded people. Ultimately, my goal is to encourage everyone to learn more about their biology, in a fun and inviting way. After all - we’re all mammals here!
Why me? Why now?
I have my PhD and Master’s specializing in reproductive science and medicine, experience as an embryologist in IVF clinics and a personal passion for women’s health. To learn more I encourage you to visit my about page.
There is a huge gender gap in research and therapeutics for women’s health. I believe part of the problem comes from a lack of education about our reproductive biology. Reproductive science is often the last body system in biology text books, the last to be taught in biology or anatomy courses and is consequently rushed through or worse - skipped altogether. Throughout my training I have encountered women in and out of science who have told me personal stories about their struggles with a variety of reproductive topics or are learning for the first time in graduate school about their reproductive timeline.
It is time for a change
Everyone can learn about their biology and I hope you will think of me as not only a domain expert, but as an older sister here to help you navigate this topic.
Here’s what to expect:
Help me help you!
I am hoping this project can help people in and out of science, with a variety of backgrounds to better understand reproductive science. My intention is to explore topics that are of interest to you and the broader women’s health community. Aside from weekly reproductive biology lessons, what content sparks your interest?
Follicle friends: interviews with fellow scientists, friends and family about reproductive science and more
We’re all mammals here: a community space to ask questions, receive advice and chat with your older sister (me!)
Research roundup: learn about the most recent scientific research articles pertaining to women’s health
